This is a great post by Macro Ops on the real driving force behind the US Equity Markets. Hint: it's nothing else than Supply and Demand.
Everything in markets comes down to supply and demand. Our jobs as speculators is to figure out the two and see if there’s a mismatch that will lead to a change in prices (a trend).
Earnings don’t move the overall market; it’s the Federal Reserve Board… focus on the central banks and focus on the movement of liquidity… most people in the market are looking for earnings and conventional measures. It’s liquidity that moves markets.
But why the reference to a Banana ? Read the post and you'll understand.
